The People’s Gallery is proud to announce the call for art for its second Halloween show, “Shadowed Visions.” We’re looking for eerie, creepy, or spooky art in any medium. The deadline for submitting art is midnight, September 26.
The show itself will open to the public on October 13, and a Halloween-themed reception and party is planned for Saturday, October 25. (Be sure to save the date – last year’s reception was a blast! Check out photos from it on our facebook page.)
So whether as an artist or an art lover, come participate in a fun show this October!

Guidelines for the “Shadowed Visions” Call for Art at The People’s Gallery:
Works submitted should:
A) depict creepy, eerie, or spooky content (figures, creatures, scenes, objects or locations)
B) have an aesthetic or tone that is dark, shadowy or ominous. The art can be more abstract or subtle so long as its overall mood fits with the theme.
Work submitted for the show can be any medium, so long as it matches the theme and is ready to hang or otherwise display upon delivery to the gallery. Any art that is selected after our jury process will hang in the gallery for at least four weeks, starting on October 13. A Halloween-themed reception is planned for Saturday, October 25.
Send an email to email@example.com containing the following:
— Digital images of the work you are submitting (multiple pieces may be submitted). They must be in the .JPG file format.
The file of each piece should be labeled with your: last name + first name + a number + title of piece. Example: If an artist named John Smith submitted two pieces, one called “Flower” and one called “Self Portrait,” he would name the files: “SmithJohn1Flower.jpg and SmithJohn2SelfPortrait.jpg”. If your pieces are part of a series, or you have a particular order you would like them viewed in, then number them appropriately.
— Information about your pieces, including: titles, medium(s), dimensions, and prices.
— A short artist bio (1-3 paragraphs, no more than half a page long) that will be put up on display alongside your piece(s) if you are accepted into the show.
Deadline: Midnight Friday, September 26
Fee: The fee for participation in the show is $25 for the first piece and $10 for each additional piece, payable after acceptance. The fee only applies to works that are selected for the show, not all works submitted. No commission will be charged on sales. PMI tenants do not have to pay any fee.
If your work is selected for the show, you will be notified by Monday, September 29. Artwork can then be delivered to the gallery between October 1 and October 7. More information about delivery schedule and procedures will be sent to all artists when they are informed of their acceptance into the show. All art should be ready-to-hang or display.
